Backup and cron monitoring for homelabs
The backup script stopped weeks ago, and you found out when you needed the backup. Pingstack watches the scripts on your NAS and servers with heartbeat checks, checks your exposed services over TCP, and tells you on Discord. The free plan covers 15 checks.
Heartbeats from cron and your NAS
Add one curl line to the end of each script. Send the backup size as a value, and you’ll get a warning if it’s suspiciously small. Heartbeats only need outbound HTTPS, so you don’t have to open anything up.
TCP checks for exposed services
Find out when SSH, a game server or a reverse proxy stops accepting connections. These checks only reach public addresses.

Send alerts to your Discord server, or by email.
