Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 22, 2026

Atomic Van, LLC (“Atomic Van,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Pingstack. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information through:

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Depending on how you use Pingstack, we may collect:

  • your name, email address, company, role, and account credentials;
  • account, workspace, membership, invitation, and notification-preference information;
  • monitoring configuration, including URLs, domains, DNS records, TCP services, schedules, thresholds, headers, and heartbeat settings;
  • incident notes, status-page content, API requests, webhook destinations, integration settings, and other content you submit;
  • notification recipients, including email addresses and phone numbers;
  • billing contact information, subscription details, invoices, and payment status; and
  • messages and information included in sales, support, or security reports.

Do not submit passwords, private keys, payment-card numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive information in forms, support requests, monitoring configuration, or integration settings.

Information collected automatically

We may collect technical and usage information such as IP address, browser and device information, session information, request timestamps, referring URLs, pages viewed, links clicked, error information, audit events, and information about how Pingstack features are used. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.

Information from integrations and other sources

We may receive information from services that you connect to Pingstack, including notification, ticketing, automation, payment, identity, and communications providers. We may also receive information from another workspace member, an organization administrator, a customer, or a person who contacts us.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  1. provide and maintain Pingstack;
  2. create and secure accounts and workspaces;
  3. authenticate users and manage roles, invitations, and access;
  4. run monitoring checks, retain check history, and deliver alerts;
  5. provide APIs, MCP, webhooks, status pages, and integrations;
  6. process subscriptions, billing, invoices, refunds, and account changes;
  7. respond to sales, support, and security reports;
  8. prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents;
  9. measure and improve the performance of our websites and service;
  10. communicate with you about the service, security, and material changes; and
  11. comply with law and protect our rights, users, and property.

Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases may include performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and securing Pingstack, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where we ask for it. We do not rely on consent where another lawful basis applies, and you may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

3. Customer Data and Our Role

Pingstack customers may submit information about their own users, employees, customers, systems, or contacts. When we process that information only to provide Pingstack on a customer’s instructions, the customer generally determines the purposes and means of processing and is responsible for its privacy notices and instructions. Atomic Van generally acts as a processor or service provider for that processing.

Atomic Van acts as a controller or business for information needed to create and administer accounts, provide support, manage billing, secure Pingstack, communicate with users, and operate the websites. The parties may enter into a Data Processing Agreement where required.

4. Cookies and Analytics

Pingstack uses necessary cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, and core service operation.

The Pingstack websites may use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to measure page views, referrals, campaigns, and navigation across pingstack.io, docs.pingstack.io, and app.pingstack.io. Google Analytics may use first-party identifiers and URL linker parameters to recognize a journey across those domains.

Where applicable law requires prior consent for nonessential analytics or similar technologies, we request consent before enabling them and provide a way to withdraw or change that choice. You may also control cookies through your browser. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising audiences or cross-context behavioral advertising under the current Pingstack configuration.

5. How We Share Information

We may disclose information to:

  • hosting, database, storage, email, content-delivery, and infrastructure providers;
  • analytics and tag-management providers;
  • abuse-prevention providers, including Cloudflare Turnstile;
  • payment and billing providers;
  • email, SMS, voice, support, ticketing, and communications providers;
  • integrations and services that you or your organization authorize, such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Jira, PagerDuty, Zapier, webhooks, and similar services;
  • professional advisers, auditors, insurers, and legal counsel;
  • regulators, law enforcement, courts, or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and security; and
  • a buyer, investor, successor, or other party involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under the current configuration. Customer-authorized integrations may independently receive information that the customer directs Pingstack to send.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, except with the communications providers that deliver messages on our behalf.

6. SMS and Voice Alerts

Pingstack can send monitoring alerts by text message (SMS) and automated voice call. These messages are transactional: they report incidents, recoveries, and other events for the checks your workspace monitors. We do not send marketing or promotional messages by SMS or voice call.

How you opt in. You opt in by entering your mobile phone number in your Pingstack profile settings and turning on SMS or voice call alerts. A workspace administrator may add you to an on-call roster or notification group, but Pingstack sends SMS or voice alerts only to a number that you have entered and enabled yourself.

Information we use. We use your phone number, your alert preferences, and the content and delivery status of each message or call to deliver alerts, keep notification history, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot delivery. We share this information only with the SMS and voice providers that deliver messages for us, such as Twilio, and only to send and track those messages.

Message frequency. Message frequency varies with the checks, rosters, and notification groups configured for your workspace. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out. Reply STOP to any Pingstack text message to stop receiving SMS alerts. You may also turn off SMS or voice call alerts, or remove your phone number, in your Pingstack profile settings at any time. Reply HELP for help, or contact support@pingstack.io.

7. International Processing

Atomic Van, LLC is based in the United States. We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use an appropriate transfer mechanism and additional safeguards for international transfers.

8. Retention and Deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Pingstack, maintain security and business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect our rights. Retention varies by category and may include account records, monitoring history, logs, support records, billing records, analytics data, and backups.

You may close an account through available account controls or by contacting support. We delete or deidentify information according to our operational retention schedules, legal obligations, security needs, and backup lifecycle. Customer information processed on a customer’s instructions may be retained or deleted according to that customer’s instructions and any applicable Data Processing Agreement.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and how we process your information, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent, opt out of certain marketing, or complain to a data-protection authority.

To submit a request, email support@pingstack.io. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and authority. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

If you use Pingstack through an organization, direct requests about customer-controlled data to that organization first. We may refer the request to the organization or assist it in responding.

10. California Privacy Rights

The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, applies only if Atomic Van meets the law’s applicable thresholds and the processing is within its scope. If it applies to your information, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain information about the categories and purposes of processing. You may also have the right to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information and to opt out of a sale or sharing that is subject to California law.

Atomic Van does not sell personal information for money and does not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising under the current Pingstack configuration. We do not knowingly collect or use sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a limitation request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a right protected by law.

California requests may be submitted to support@pingstack.io. We will verify requests as required and allow an authorized agent where required by law. We honor applicable Global Privacy Control signals for opt-out requests when the underlying processing is subject to an opt-out right.

11. Children

Pingstack is intended for business and technical users and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so that we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

12. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, authentication and security features, encrypted transport, abuse prevention, monitoring, and managed infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our service, data practices, vendors, or legal obligations change. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
